3.1 The page editor

When you press a page edit button

at the Edit Pages table:

 

you will navigate to the page editor:

 

 In this page you have:

  1. Links (under the Easy Web Site Creator logo)

    • Preview Site

    Opens a new window with your site home page.

    • Administration Home

    Returns to the administration main page.

    • Logout

     Ends your administration session.

    • Preview

    Opens a new window with your last saved page version.

    • Help

    Opens a new window with this on-line help.

     

  2. Buttons (below the links and repeated at the page bottom)

    • Cancel

    Discards the changes and returns to the Edit Pages' page.

    • Discard changes

    Discards your editing changes but keeps you in the editor page.

    • Save

    Publishes your changes and keeps you in the editor page.

    • Save & Close

    Publishes your changes and returns to the Edit Pages' page.

    • Save & Preview

    Publishes your changes and opens a new window with the page as it will be shown to visitors.

    Important Note
    You should disable any pop-up blocker you may have installed in your browser to use this button.

     

  3. The page editor

    The page editor has a toolbar with icons similar to many text editors, like Microsoft Word.

     

    If you are familiar with text editor tools, you probably can start right away using this page editor, but since web pages have some particular characteristics, we recommend you to take a look in the next tutorial pages.

    The main dissimilarities arise at:

    • Page properties definitions like title and Meta Data information.
       
    • Picture insertion, since pictures are not embedded in the same document.
       
    • Linking between different pages and sites.
       
    • Page layout, relying mainly in tables use.
